Does Mark Zuckerberg Have Autism?

While never confirmed by him or his wife, Mark Zuckerberg has been rumored to have autism spectrum disorder or ASD.

is mark zuckerberg autistic

In 2010, a film called The Social Network was featured at the box office. It's based on the life and college years of Zuckerberg.

In the film, he's shown as a man that has little empathy. He doesn't appear to care about the feelings of those around him.

According to the film, social cues simply couldn't be comprehended by Mark.

As research indicates, there are symptoms associated with autism that sometimes extend outward to the demeanor of an individual.

Some viewers of the movie have drawn parallels between ASD symptoms and Mark's behavior. But is he autistic?

Although some fans believe that he could be, there's no way to tell since most of the assumptions are riddled with conjecture. Online, there exist various groups that present the same question.

Depending on the forum, opinions range from Mark's diagnosis being probable to highly unlikely.

One flaw with those using the film to form a conclusion on Zuckerberg's status as autistic is that there could exist inaccuracies.

The film is an account of events that happened throughout Mark's life as a young adult, yet that doesn't guarantee that his temperament shown in the film is entirely accurate.

Does Mark Zuckerberg Have Aspergers?

Mark and those closest to him have never claimed that he has Asperger's with absolute certainty, though he might be autistic.

Being an excellent programmer, Mark Zuckerberg is the founder of Facebook. People that have worked alongside him have reported that he has shown indicators of Asperger's. They claim that he's socially awkward, engages in repetitive actions, and expresses little empathy.

Zuckerberg's wife, Priscilla Chen, encouraged him to spend more time with her before engagement.

Critics of the claims relating to Asperger's posit that the syndrome is just another name for autism. Therefore, if Mark is autistic, it should be accurately designated.

Mark's rumored inability to extend empathy to people is sometimes linked to the layout of Facebook, where privacy settings allowed advertisers to view the personal information of accounts made on the platform.

Although it may not be surprising to one day find out that Zucker does have ASD, bold assumptions should be ruled out. Not everyone who has an antisocial personality has autism, just as some prefer to not make eye contact with those in their immediate presence.
